Low Back Pain? We’ve got you covered!

One of the most common diagnoses seen at both chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, low back pain affects 31 million Americans at any given time. Back pain does not discriminate, and can affect people of all ages. The cause of low back pain can be from many different elements including sprained ligaments, muscle strains, ruptured disks, stenosis, irritated joints, or injuries both small and large. Factors such as poor posture, arthritis, obesity, and psychological stress can also all lead to or complicate back pain.

Chiropractic care and physical therapy can utilize many techniques to address back pain including spinal manipulation, joint mobilization, decompression, soft tissue massage and therapeutic exercise. Evidence has shown that spinal manipulation for back pain is just as effective as prescription NSAIDS to alleviate pain.

Active physical therapy can help by strengthening the stabilization musculature that supports the low back. The stronger the muscles are around the spine and discs, the less stress that is places on the discs and joints of the spine. One can develop their own stability “belt” around their spine to help optimize function and minimize pain.

Koerner Chiropractic and Physical Therapy is able to help you by a multi-faceted approach to low back pain with having both chiropractors and physical therapists available to ensure the best plan of care to address your pain. With additional modalities such as the DRX decompression, traction, and electrical stimulation, you will receive the most well rounded care around to help you return to doing the activities you love without pain
